SumCreative produced a range of graphics and visual effects for ITV Granada Factuals. Exodus Earth was produced for Discovery’s Science Channel with the series featuring the possibilities for mankind leaving the Earth and setting up home on various Planets.
The team created three different strands of graphics for the series. The first involved creating a series of highly detailed CGI planetary landscapes showing specific geographical features to help illustrate how easy or difficult it would be to create a human habitat. The second involved building a virtual environment for the presenter, Dr Basil Singer, who views giant data screens that contain the programme elements. The third strand involved producing a series of animated graphic novels. These illustrated the jeopardy elements in the series and took the form of comic book adventures.
The team worked closely with the series producers to create the most efficient production pipeline across the three strands of work.
