Pie Factory

The Pies the limit!

Sumners have entered into a joint venture with  Mediacity:UK site owners Peel Holdings to operate the Pie Factory studio complex on Salford Quays. The vast empty space is now undergoing a major transformation to incorporate a full costume department; make-up rooms, dressing rooms, production office space and five sound stages.  The stages range in size from 3000 to 8000 sq ft and are already in production with Drop Dead Gorgeous for Hat Trick and Smalltime for BBC Comedy.

Graphic artists Anthony Scott & Alan O’Brien created the animated journey around the UK, pinpointing the special places that have inspired and affected our major comic talents. This major brief required over 100 locations to be modelled and animated in 3D, which was primarily realised using Lightwave. The second series is already scheduled to return later in the year.
