It’s only Rock n Roll, but we like it...
SumCreative have topped the Best Post Production Craft category at this year’s RTS North West Awards. Beating off tough competition the award was for the team’s motion graphics work for BBC 2’s “I’m In A Rock n Roll Band!”
Series Producer John Piper commissioned a series of graphic novel inspired sequences for the 5 shows, each of which featuring unique moments in the careers and lives of the series’ featured rock stars.
Creative Director Paul Peppiate enlisted the services of some of the country’s finest comic book illustrators who provided over two hundred bespoke illustrations, each dictated by the storylines from the series producers.
The artwork was subsequently prepped in Photoshop & Illustrator before being animated in After Effects. Background locations and graphic textures, lighting effects and grading were all produced by SumCreative’s Alan O’Brien, Lynn Tidsey & Ant Scott.
